Today I fiannly interviewed someone from the council. My main question was if a proposal for a venture is brought to the council, what is the expected response?
I am very incouraged by the answer as the council is very interested in ideas to decrease car use and the corresponding congestion and ecological impact.
As they do with car sharing the council is willing to provide free parking spots to projects and veentures it sees as beneficial in this area. The council has recently been converting parking spaces along lygon street into bikeloops.
The interview also highlighted the recent state government initiative into establishing a bike sharing service in victoria.
